Your itinerary:

Day 1 - Munich

Individual arrival. Start your holiday with a visit to the Fortress Grünwald or the nearby Bavaria Film City.

Day 2 - Munich to Murnau am Staffelsee

Leave Munich by crossing the Forstenrieder Park to Lake Starnberg. Cycle along the lake side to Seeshaupt. On beautiful roads through ancient Bavarian villages, past Lake Ostersee and Lake Riegsee your trip takes you to Murnau.

Day 3 - Murnau to Garmisch

Cross Middle-Europe's largest moor and swamp area, the natural reserve Murnauer Moos. Along the river Loisach your journey brings you to the famous winter sport town Garmisch. Today's brief stage gives you time to take the cable car up to Germany's highest mountain, the Zugspitze.

Day 4 - Garmisch to Wallgau

You will travel to Scharnitz by train. From there your journey takes you slightly uphill through romantic gorges and Alpine fields to the source of the river Isar. Cycle back through the sunny valley with wonderful panoramas of the Karwendel and Wetterstein Mountains to the traditional Wallgau village.

Day 5 - Wallgau to Bad Tölz

Past the Isarwinkel you follow the crystal clear, turquoiseblue waters of the young Isar river to the marvellous Lake Sylvenstein passing the little town Lenggries. Through lovely rural countryside you reach Bad Tölz. Situated at the crossing of two old trading routes, it still impresses with imposing, richly decorated old buildings.

Day 6 - Bad Tölz to Lake Tegernsee

Through the charming landscape of Lake Tegernsee you reach the town of Gmund. Along the Gaißbach Valley you cycle back to Bad Tölz, where the thermal springs of the famous spa ‘Alpamare' make tired muscles fit.

Day 7 - Bad Tölz to Munich

On the Isar cycle path you go via Geretsried and Wolfratshausen to Grünwald. Only a few brief ascents before you can immerse into the life of Bavaria's capital Munich.

Day 8 - Munich

Individual departure or extra days in Munich.
