Stuttgart - Culture, Castles and Cars

Stuttgart, the vibrant state capital of Baden-Württemburg, is famous for its automobile history and is home to the impressive Mercedes-Benz Museum. This stunning city will delight visitors with its modern innovation and cultural diversity. From eclectic architecture to fascinating museums and fun festivals to delicious cuisine, the city of Stuttgart should be on everyone’s ‘must-see’ list.

For art and culture lovers there is the fine art collection housed in the State Gallery and the Stuttgart Opera House - home to the National Theatre and the Stuttgart Ballet company. The Natural History Museum and the Planetarium are also fascinating attractions, especially great for family visitors.

Some of Stuttgart’s biggest and most popular events include the Wine Village, held during late summer, and the autumn beer festival, the second largest after Munich’s Oktoberfest.

Stuttgart, for all its big-name industry and urban development, has no shortage of green space. The city’s numerous public parks and fine gardens are commonly referred to as the Green U due to the horseshoe-like shape they create around the city centre. Stretching from the opulent gardens of Schlossgarten, with their meandering pathways and elaborate fountains framed by the ornate facade of the New Palace, all the way round to the imaginative horticultural creation that is Killesberg Park.

And with your free Stuttgart Plus Card you can explore the city easily with free public transport and excellent discounts on many of the city’s main attractions.
