Gourmet on the Baltic Coast
To the north of Berlin lie the Mecklenburg lakelands and the Baltic coast. Specially noteworthy is the Baltic resort of Heiligendamm, whose fine restaurants feature such dishes as Mecklenburger Speckkartoffelsalat (potato salad with chopped bacon) and various Baltic fish (cod, flounder, plaice and herring).
