Cannstatter Wasen
The Oktoberfest may be Germany's most famous and largest beer festival, but Stuttgart is close on Munich's heels with its annual Cannstatter Wasen.
The Cannstatter grounds include three huge brewery tents, each holding 4,500 people sampling Swabian specialties like Kasspätzle and Schupfnudeln with Sauerkraut whilst being entertained by traditional brass bands.
As well as the beer tents, Stuttgart's beer festival also hosts a fairground. Featuring rides like the loop the loop and spooky ghost trains, as well as the world's largest transportable Ferris wheel and a thrilling rollercoaster, the Cannstatter Wasen offers some great family fun!
