The international firework competition always has a varied programme: We invite you to while away the time in the Royal Gardens of Herrenhausen with variety performances and the finest of music long before the high point of the evening, the fireworks.

The world's best pyrotechnic experts are invited to Hanover. In a time slot of 25 minutes fireworks are set off against the backdrop of the Großer Garten (Great Garden) - a jewel of Baroque garden architecture.

The show is accompanied by classical to pop music, exactly timed to the fireworks. Within this period, there is no limit to the pyrotechnists' imagination. A professional jury made up of nine members judges the competition. After the final fireworks they announce their results.

The unique Royal Gardens of Herrenhausen were created in 1666. You can enjoy a variety of stylistic orientations, baroque horticulture in the French style, the English landscaped garden and the botanical garden. The Großer Garten, Berggarten, Georgengarten and Welfengarten were laid out by the kings and princes of Hanover between the 17th and 19th centuries.
