Every year, the Baltic seaside resort of Lübeck hosts the World Sand ‘Travemünde’ Sculpture festival where sand sculptors try to create the best sandscape possible. The creations can be up to 11 metres high and are spread across Travemünde beach. During the festival, nine million kilos of hardened stone-like sand will be carved and modelled into beautiful and unique sculptures.
