One of the highlights in Thuringia for 2008 is the International Bach Festival in Weimar. 300 years ago Johann Sebastian Bach came to Weimar where he spent nine important  years of his life. Not only his sons were born there but he also composed three quarters of his entire organworks as well as several other important pieces of work. The Bach Biennale pays tribute to the masterpieces of Bach in a three day festival.
