Hanover Christmas Market
Once a year...
Three Christmas markets (in the old town, in front of the main railway station and on the Lister Meile) at once put the whole of Hannover in a Christmassy mood in Advent.
Not commercialised but staged: that is the motto for the Christmas market around the Market Church in the old town.
The festive illumination of the Market Church and Old Town Hall makes sure that this traditional Christmas market has a very special atmosphere of its own. One unusual attraction is the "Finnish Christmas Village" held at the adjacent Ballhofplatz with Finnish tents and specialities such as "Flammlachs" (grilled fish) and "Glögi" (mulled wine).
