Visit the Town Hall (Rathaus) in Deidesheim and check out the splendid staircase. Inside, the Wine Museum is worth visiting. Former Chancellor Helmut Kohl’s favourite restaurant was in this small village and he entertained many international dignitaries there, including Margaret Thatcher. She refused to eat his favourite dish – Saumagen – sow’s belly!
