Famous Facts

Home of the legend of The Pied Piper of Hamelin (Hameln). Another famous character who hails from this state is Baron Münchhausen. The teller of tall tales was born in the small town of Bodenwerder. The most infamous Nazi concentration camp in Germany is at Bergen-Belsen. Wolfsburg is the site of the world’s largest car plant – the Volkswagen factory.
