Facts
- The German Wine Road (Deutsche Weinstrasse) begins in Bockenheim and wanders south through the heart of the Palatinate for 85 km to Schweigen on the border with France.
- It runs through the rolling countryside along the eastern side of the Palatinate Forest (Pfälzer Wald) through numerous towns and villages where you can sample not only the wines, but culinary delights ranging from New German cuisine to traditional regional specialities.
- The route was established in the 1930s.
Where about
- The German Wine Route in the state of Rhineland-Palatinate starts in Bockenheim, continues through Bad Dürkheim and Deidesheim before ending in Schweigen-Rechterbach.
