Weimar
Weimar (pop 64,000) was chosen as the seat of government of the Weimar Republic. This democratic German State was established after World War I and lasted until 1933. The city of Weimar is still connected with names like Goethe, Schiller and Herder, who all lived there.
Visit Goethe’s house in Weimar where each room is painted in a different colour for each mood, according to Goethe’s theories. He also wrote Faust here.
