The historic wine building in Eisingen, an architectural gem dating back to 1556, contains four early wine presses as well as a small wine museum. The altarpiece in the Basilica of St. Mary Magdalene in Tiefenbronn, painted by Lucas Moser in 1431, is one of Germany's major examples of Gothic panel painting. The history of mining is charted right back to the days of the Romans and the Celts in the Frischglück Visitors Mine, an old iron ore mine. Other places of interest include the cloister Maulbronn (UNESCO-world-culture-monument), the Melanchthon Memorial House and Museum in Bretten and the Hermann Hesse Museum in Calw.
