The Baden State Theatre attracts over 320,000 visitors a year with its opera, music, ballet and drama. There are eight privately owned and amateur theatres to entertain you, including one where plays are performed in dialect and one which stages puppet shows. The new multiplex cinema has seating for about 3.000 cinema-goers. After seeing a film on one of its ten screens, why not have something to eat in one of its many restaurants and bistros. Karlsruhe offers concerts to suit every taste. You can rock to the sound of Tina Turner in the Wildpark Stadium, sit back and enjoy the Vienna Philharmonic in the town hall or relax to Chris Barber's jazz band. There is also the Festival (Das Fest), the biggest free open-air spectacular in southern Germany.
