Wiesbaden - A Poet's Dream
Wiesbaden's special attraction was discovered as early as 2000 years ago, when the Romans found 26 springs that carried hot thermal water to the surface.
They found the effects of the waters to be miraculous for themselves and their horses and set up the first bath houses, which were known all the way over the Alps into Italy.
The city grew into a royal court and imperial city under the Dukes of Nassau. Under the new Prussian rulers in 1866, the city began to develop further.
