Natural Park 'TERRA.vita'
Experience Nature and History in the Osnabrück County: 300 million years of earth's history can be seen live in the Natural Park TERRA.vita
The Natural Park TERRA.vita is a recognised UNESCO Geopark and is 1140 square kilometers (440 square miles) large. It stretches along the mountain ranges of the Northern Teutoburg Forest, the Wiehen Mountains and the Osnabrück County. Being far and away the biggest outdoor fitness centre, the varying landscape gives hikers, nordic-walkers, cyclists and mountain bikers the possibility to be active and move around in nature.
The spa towns Bad Essen, Bad Iburg, Bad Laer and Bad Rothenfelde offer a large variety of wellness and fitness activities for the benefit of your health and for regaining your strength.
The highlights of the Natural Park in the Osnabrück County are the location of the Varus Battle in Bramsche-Kalkriese, the City of Peace Osnabrück where European history was made at the end of the Thirty Years' War by signing the Peace of Westphalia Treaties, and many other places where you can discover the witnesses of 300 million years of earth's history and the cultural history of the region.
