Museum of Industrial Culture
Housed in the buildings of a former coal mine, this museum shows the history of the industrialisation in Osnabrück. With its round arched architecture, the “Hase-Schacht –building” belongs to the finest German buildings of this kind. Alongside two steam engines the museum has a special attraction: just as the miners did in former times, visitors can travel 30 m below the surface in a glass lift, where they can walk 300m through the historic mine shaft to the depot building.
