Cathedral Treasure Chamber and Diocesan Museum

The Cathedral treasure contains liturgical instruments, reliquaries and precious jewels spanning 1200 years, amongst them are pieces of the highest craftsmanship such as the chapter cross. The Diocesan Museum, founded in 1918 and reopened in 2008 shows sculptures, paintings and textiles. Highlights are the chasuble of Bishop Benno II, made of Byzantian silk, and the works of the “Master of Osnabrück”, the most important sculptors workshop in late-medieval Osnabrück.
