The Zwinger is a stunning group of Baroque buildings begun in1709 and built around a large courtyard with fountains, pools and lawns. Today it houses six museums full of some of Dresden’s spectacular treasures.

The Zwinger houses The Old Masters Gallery; the Rüstkammer – a collection of ceremonial weapons; Porcelain Collection; Mathematics & Physics Salon; Natural History Museum (Naturhistorische Sammlungen); and the Museum of Mineralogy & Geology.
