Aachen Town Hall was built on the ruins of Charlemagne’s palace in the early 14th century. The Coronation Hall contains the famous 19th century Rethel frescos, copies of the Imperial Crown Jewels and gothic and baroque furniture. It’s also the location of the Charlemagne Award.
