Take a walk up the hill leading to the Andechs Monastery which towers over the small town of Herrsching on the shores of Lake Ammersee. To this day Andechs is considered to be a holy mountain what attracts many pilgrims. The monastery also serves the dark beer for which the Benedictine brewery is famous. Luckily, praying and having a cool beer afterwards are not mutually exclusive here.
