
Stuttgart's Old Castle
Built around 1320 and surrounded by water, with further sections built in the Renaissance style between 1553 and 1570. It has a magnificent Renaissance inner courtyard which is acknowledged by experts as the finest piece of architecture of its kind in Germany. Nowadays the Old Castle houses the Württemberg State Museum.
