Architectural Highlights of Wiesbaden
Emperor Wilhelm II influenced the architectural design of the cultural centres of Wiesbaden such as the Hesse State Theatre and the ‘new' Kurhaus. He solemnly declared his favourite summer residence to be a ‘world spa city'.
European nobility, world-renowned poets, philosophers and musicians laid the foundations for the cultural life of the city. The Romantic Classicism and Art nouveau era has influenced the face of the city and this can be clearly seen in the Villas and houses, extensive parks and beautiful green boulevards.
The city tour ‘Wiesbaden - a Jewel of Historism' gives you an in-depth description on Wiesbaden's brilliant past.
