Shopping in Baden-Württemberg

Even the most enthusiastic, furthest-travelled shoppers find something to wax lyrical about in Baden-Württemberg. The state boasts exclusive, comprehensive shopping possibilities that are surprisingly different and original.

The town of Metzingen has become a bargain-hunters' Mecca. A special shopping experience has been created in the Erms valley, about 30 km to the south of Stuttgart, where factory outlet stores are a magnet for visitors. The Metzingen outlet centre offers unique discounts of 30 to 70 % on national and international designer brand articles, young fashion, outdoor articles and other high-quality products.

Shoppers will also find a wide variety of opportunities in the Stuttgart region. Stuttgart's Königsstraße – the longest pedestrian precinct in Germany – leaves nothing to be desired. You will find a large number of international chains, modern department stores and retail branches all in one street. While the state capital has a lot to offer, shoppers will also find a large number of possibilities in other towns and cities.

Traditional Black Forest clocks, gold and silver from Pforzheim, Steiff teddy-bears from Giengen and delicious Ritter Sport chocolate are only some of the specialities from Baden-Württemberg that make for exciting shopping. Other cities such as Mannheim, Heidelberg, Karlsruhe etc. offer everything the heart desires. If you want to find everything in one place, just visit Breuningerland in Ludwigsburg/Tammerfeld.
